OMUS is one of the Okanagan's longest established musical repair shops.  Founded in 1978, it has shared space with Paramount Music nearly from the beginning.  Michael Garding joined the OMUS team in 1998 and eventually purchased the business.

 

Michael grew up in Winfield, BC where he excelled in band class.  He went on to study Musical Performance at Grant Mac Ewan College.  Repairing instruments was a natural fit for Michael as he wanted to know everything about how his own instrument worked and how to keep it in top playing condition.

 

As a Professional Musician, Michael understands how important it is to have your instrument properly maintained.  Regular wear and tear causes corrosion, loosening of connections and bent keys.  All these things can make it difficult or even impossible to play.  Even an accomplished musician cannot play their best if their instrument is not in good shape.

 

OMUS has, and continues to service school district horns from all over the province, as well as repairing and maintaining instruments played by professionals and novices alike.
